Susan Chrysler White
Susan Chrysler White was born in California and moved to Iowa in 2000 to serve as Associate Professor of Painting and Drawing at the University of Iowa. Her paintings feature a complex combination of images. White studies the connections that exist between real things and abstraction, and how the two might transform from one to the other. To do this, she applies oval shapes of paint made by pouring and pressing paint without brushes onto her canvases with their diagrammatic structure.
