Upper Midwestern Artists | Born 1965 | San Antonio, Texas
Valerie Beller was born in Texas and has been active in Chicago as an artist and professor since 1988. Her primary interest is in studying how intentional actions combine with purely random activities. Therefore, her paintings consist of layering, staining, and pouring paints in a way that is often out of her control. With that, however, she adds numerous smaller forms that are deliberately similar and organized.
