ARTcetera 2024 features artworks that support both a dynamic exhibition and an important fundraiser for the Art Center Association of Sioux City. ARTcetera is an auction that takes place on April 12, with artworks installed throughout the first-floor galleries. The exhibition brings together some of the best work by the most creative artists working locally and regionally. ARTcetera is an exciting opportunity to view work by artists you already know well, while discovering great artists with whom you are less familiar.
For Artists
The Sioux City Art Center is thrilled to present ARTcetera, our fundraiser art auction in the Spring of 2024. We would love to include your artwork!
ARTcetera is one of the most important fundraising events for the Art Center and is the largest art event in the Siouxland region. The funds raised during the event provide the Art Center with the essential support we need for our upcoming exhibitions and programs.
Artworks are selected following a review process by a panel of jurors, including museum staff, collectors, and art professionals. If your work is selected, you’ll receive a complimentary ticket to the ARTcetera auction, copies of the auction catalog, and additional promotional opportunities. You may choose to retain up to 50% of the final bid.
The artworks in ARTcetera will be installed in our three first-floor galleries, totaling approximately 5,000 square feet.
Important dates and deadlines for ARTcetera 2024:
December 15: Application deadline.
January 11: Jury decisions are sent to artists. Artists will be sent a brief agreement to complete.
February 12: Deadline for artworks to arrive at the Art Center.
March 21: Opening Reception of ARTcetera, 5:00pm – 7:00pm
March 22: Exhibition of ARTcetera artworks opens to the public; Artworks available for sale at Buy It Now prices.
April 12: ARTcetera Auction.
Submission Instructions:
Artists may submit up to three artworks for review. Submit the following for each artwork:
- 1 – 2 digital images of the artwork (2 MB maximum)
- Title, date, medium/materials, dimensions, and retail value of each artwork
- Your name, address, email address, and phone number
- Brief professional biography
- Website and social media links
The retail value is set by you. The minimum bid will be set at 50% of the retail value. If your artwork is chosen, we will also ask you to supply a brief statement [150 words maximum each] about the selected artwork(s) in ARTcetera.
